Scotland and Friendship

“One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood.” -Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Our weekend trip up to Scotland to visit our friends Walter and Lezanne from Cape Town was incredible. It was everything one could hope for in Scotland and more. We took a drive out to Loch Lomond that blew my mind. Literally the beauty of the hills, water and landscape was more than I could handle. Later in the day I found myself in Sterling re-living the epic Braveheart scene. Scotch, beer, pub food, and sleezy breakfasts – we ate it all. If I think back to all the traveling I’ve done this year and all the beauty and fun to be had it pails in comparison to connecting and spending time with people that really know you. I can’t put my finger on it but I appreciate being able to be so blatantly real and honest with my friend Walter, friends like him are hard to come by.
